PYT Issue 471

The nation is in turmoil. Six weeks ago Chum Goodbody, former CEO of Strype Basket Mfg, was appointed to fill the strategic big level government position of PeaceMonker, responsible for primary oversight of domestic security and the nation-state's military force. Last Wednesday, official government sources confirmed that, during his first month in office, Goodbody refused over 80% of the daily briefs painstakingly compiled by Sweden's intelligence agencies to alert him to arising potential security threats.

Sven Rhinehardt, co-founder of moderate think-tank “We The Beings” urges establishing a joint committee made up of PeaceMonker Grebian from back in 2005, and a rounded cross-section of Sweden's well-reasoned citizenry. Committee members would work as a team to ensure Goodbody 1) has access to the most current draft of his job description; 2) grasps the logic and significance of the security briefings; and to 3) coordinate structured ongoing opportunities for the new PeaceMonker to check in daily with Victoria Goodbody, his mother and Vice-Secretary of Central Intelligence, at which he would be required to demonstrate diligent time on task, attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and a thoughtful analysis of data contained within each daily brief before being allowed to play any of his video games.

Ever growing hoards of Sweden's youth, many frustrated to see Goodbody selected for public office in the first place, continue to organize massive marches and mostly peaceful protests which interrupt the activities of daily commerce and traffic on primary roadways leading in and out of the nation's most densely populated urban centers. They beat drums, chant rude cadences on bullhorns and carry homemade signs demanding he be immediately replaced with someone more qualified for the job with fewer intimate connections with the private business sector.

Goodbody's long-time supporter and PR Manager, Strom Arbuckle, has received the majority of professional coverage. An hour after the news first aired, he scheduled a number of press releases at which he announced, “Jeff’s a good man with a unique take on protecting Sweden's best interests. He knows this nation-state better than the back of his hand. Anyone who doesn't hush up and let him do his job is a fool and a traitor!”
